A religious mission, if you will, not giving in to easy traps. The easiest of all is Power. Because Power corrupts, Power engulfs you, Power pulls you inside of it! Do you understand? If you stand next to a presidential candidate during a campaign, if you go to dinner with him and talk with him you become his henchman, right? One of his operators. I’ve never liked it. My instinct has always been to stay away from it. Really stay away, while today I see many young people that enjoy, that flourish at the idea of being near Power, having a close relationship with Power, sleeping with Power, going to dinner with Power, to achieve prestige, glory, maybe information. I’ve never done that. You can call it a form of morality. I’ve always had this sense of pride that made me stand right in front of Power, look at it in the eye and flip it off. I opened the door, I put a foot in, I entered, but when I was in its room, instead of pleasing it I controlled what was wrong, I asked questions. This is journalism.
